Money Instead Of Gifts For Birthday

I'm still in Germany and it is good here.

I'm still in Germany, or once again. I like it here. I'm still working in the field of education. Today was exciting. I met in the afternoon Axel Beyer, CEO of Modern School Hamburg GMBH, a school that will open its doors in the fall. I make time for some people found the schools that I like to. I admire people that this step is wagen.Es also very exciting.

The modern school of Hamburg will then also be modern. In education directly, but also in the building and, if I understood correctly, in the way they designed teachers' work. First, the school starts with a primary and a secondary school class. Building to full operation. Over the years. With the years comes the production, which is here in Austria determined otherwise, I think. I have to so ask me again exactly.

In any case, teachers should work in a modern school Hamburg fun: cornerstones are team work, find support through professional coaching and 100% at the school. I think the three points great, but what teacher or teacher would not find the super? Holiday's but then only 6 weeks, I think OK, that'll probably find many not so great. I like to travel. But for that I am not in recent years came in the summer holidays, but in the time-outs, which I indulged myself. This is not easy to explain, especially to non-teachers. I will not even try.

The Modern School of Hamburg is of course an ostensibly schületentrierte school. They advertised with the slogan "Between Freedom and Responsibility." English, Chinese, German are taught from the beginning. Body-centered work, research projketorientiertes in the extended lunch breaks and students are involved in cooking, networks, cooperation in as many areas as possible are other key issues. This is possible, 365 days a year. You will be supported not only by teachers but also how the teachers of coaches and a great concerted cooperation of teachers, parents and pupils.

Sounds exciting, it all seems to be an important part of the city in an environment where the private school system. Axel Beyer is definitely in famous company. Nena has opened in the past year in a school.

Dragonball Ball Doujin

Voki Goodbye, now the father! Create a wiki about Pop Art

I have returned despite flu with high feeling of my quick trip through southern Germany and western Austria. It was nice there. About Dillingen I wrote in an earlier entry, in Vorarlberg, it is almost always very nice and from Stuttgart, I was pleasantly surprised.
The main reason for the elation: I made some nice new friends and a bunch of old friends taken. I was a few days very little on the computer. That comes to, especially since the days before I barely got away from the device.

Mr. Thomas Rau 'd probably slow down now, with what one may write, but this much I've given up yet, yes. The discussion about the production Rau instigated in Dillingen, what is not allowed to write to his blog and makes me not alone. Since I will also consult with him again. Yesterday I started on paper to a post, as I am but not mentally progressed. The subject was then " kronig .

I really wanted today on Social Networks continue to think that was another focus in Dillingen. The later must follow, otherwise the post again for too long. Today only this introduction. The Voki is, in the meantime at least, but I will have a PollDaddy start poll. Poll Daddy is a Web 2.0 service, which allows one to make polls and vote simply on my website. It is also very good for the English class. Students can work together as a survey and then present these other teachers to a survey by eliciting from the start to create a class on a topic. As issues develop authentic situations around school and environment.
I think that the tool is very good for getting to elicit trends and preferences of readers and visitors to websites, like digg so show with great success. I will then try out for a spin.

How Do You Get A Burn Mark Off An Iron

Using youtube - -

"network building and knowledge sharing - the School as Learning Community" title of a very successful event on ALP Dillingen . What sounds like a small who's who of the German e-learning community read, was a conference with about 110 representatives from schools and science. Thematically event already with videos and films is prepared by the conference blog. Here, therefore only a subjective impression.

First there was the keynote speech by Peter Baumgartner , who spoke on partnership models for teaching and school development, and social software. He pointed to global trends and their impact on learning . The lecture ended with concrete ideas on the use of Web 2.0 in Education Development, or with four theses on social software.

The second keynote lecture of Beat Döbeli-Honegger "ubiquitous learning" or mobile learning was no less interesting. The comparison between Mobile learning and mobile was not only amusing but also quite consistent. Later he sketched parallels of statements about learning in the 70's and e-learning and myths shattered in 2008.

The two presentations are available together with the presentations by Gabi clean man, John Cooper and Herbert Jancke already as a video recording. I can recommend good and happy. The professional recordings can serve as well as to support a smaller training activity. This is still not very common, but why should not these benefits of e-learning can also be used.

said the workshops, "Mr Thomas Rau " about blogging from the perspective of teachers. The man blogging already for some time to himself, and almost every day. That it shows. For him, blogging is not an exotic fantasy, but rather an opening to the outside of the classroom. Didactics and technology were not in his workshop in the foreground, but the dangers and joys of blogging and the network aspect among teachers and students.

was in the spontaneous Wiki Workshop by Mr Döbeli then the theories trump. The good practice examples that were presented in this workshop, Wikis make you want to try out enhanced. A re-discovery was the FOR Wiki, which I had already discovered several years ago and then lost sight of. But there are quite a lot of teaching materials.

Overall a really great event with very positive mood of all participants and lively discussion. Häuptle thanks to Eva, Gabi Reinmann and John Cooper with your team for the wonderful organization.

"network building and knowledge sharing - the School as Learning Community Wiki

wikis with have I can not even feel at all, although I for group tasks and collaborative work all find useful. To use, they also quite simple.

Jürgen Wagner me now a great tip from a Web link sent 2.0 wiki, which I also like to publish. The EFL Web 2.0 Wiki for English teachers show great opportunities to Web 2.0 use in teaching English. The original purpose of the wiki was to organize a training pace. The tips, links and the structure can be well used for other purposes or for its own Web 2.0 courses.

easiest to use, I still find the wikis in Moodle . If you have access to a Moodle platform owner, you can create without much prior knowledge and other applications in its course a wiki. Among other things, I'm with a group of advanced a wiki created on Pop Art in English class. Also works very well. In groups of 2-3 students each a subject had to be worked. The wiki was used as a learning aid for testing, the results had to be presented live. Velvet Underground videos about Factory photo frames up to a lot of art are quite desanding great entries. The student has fun gemacht, als Folgeübung kann man jeweils eine Gruppe die Einträge einer anderen Gruppe redigieren lassen.

Pop

I have been using youtube frequently in classes. I find some of the videos, especially the ones from news stations extremely useful when trying to find video content for any given content. Two videos that deal with the topic of teenage inhalants (drugs) that are short and can be used to stimulate discussion are the following two:

PSA Teenage Inhalants

Video URL: http://youtube.com/watch?v=vSWt8UMRsdY

The first one is a 60 second educational PSA regarding the dangers of inhalant abuse. The PSA was produced alongside the National Inhalant Prevention Coalition. For more information on the topic the pages below can help generate material or exercises

www.inhalants.com

www.inhalant.org

http://www.nida.nih.gov/ResearchReports/Inhalants/Inhalants.html

13 ABC report teenage inhalants

Video URL: http://youtube.com/watch?v=8LpFqVyx62o

The second video is a 4 minute in-depth report by Ronnie Dahl from 13 ABC Action News in Toledo, Ohio, regarding teens and the dangers of inhalant abuse. I used it with the set of questions below and to stimulate discussion.

Video comprehension questions

  1. What do kids call getting high computer duster?
  2. What are some of the products these teens use?
  3. Why is it so popular with younger kids?
  4. How many 8 th graders use inhalants?
  5. What is dangerous about Inhalants?
  6. What is said about the Williams family?
  7. What are some signs of using Inhalants?

Vocabulary: To get a buzz

What's ta da Examples?

would actually say it's right "What's to do ? - But even that is only for advanced English learners easily put into a proper context. I've been drinking coffee late, which of course is not a person interested, then I could not sleep, even less interesting, and I am in bed "to do list" in my head went through for tomorrow. Which seemed to me a huge list. After I have now written down but it really is short, not to say "non existent". Just as well I could approve tomorrow a day of holiday at least half a vacation day, "nothing ta da" - I can prove it. everyone can see ( at this link). My day for all.

Just a little bit applications of ta-da lists in education, that's the real reason for posting this:
  • In foreign language teaching, talk about the future, modal, dialogs. There are several possibilities. The lists are generated quickly and can be used eg for a write pulse as input.
  • organization: schools, pupils and teachers for the collaborative organization of things. One can view the lists for specific groups of users, for themselves or the world. Just try it.
Register you have to, as everywhere in the Web 2.0 .

Throbbing Left Shoulder Rear

teacher training deluxe

Today I was asked by a student, what was the the first thing we should teach students teaching profession. Since initially I was totally flabbergasted, I have never seen reflected on a possible specific outline of teacher education content. I then never really recovered and I still think I would give the answer again as I was, perhaps, reflected somewhat.

What it is really what should have heard prospective teachers first? First, it is I think personal experience we can give teachers erfahrerenen future employees, then experience in the school system and then experience more erfahrerenen colleagues. This may take a long time and will also assume a central role, but it should not be the only element. And what follows? The fact that embarking on a profession for which there are no rules and no fixed guide, at least not methodical. Who does so on an answer? No one. And yet it is able to demonstrate that teach very much on "role modeling" that is based on example and should build it. That, at least once a helpful starting point, because who, if not 18-25 year old students know, not exactly like a / e good teacher has to be. My students can do it with a relative 100% define quality accuracy, even if they lack the educational tools for it. And when I returned to my first time remember I have everything I've kept at my own teachers is wrong, over 1:1. A fact to which we certainly can not stress enough. Do not take my wrong, but to keep on the lookout for role models and accepting of their good qualities.

More experience: school books (collective experience of authors and teachers), the Internet (collective experience of all) and his friends (Web 2.0). And what comes then: then comes, I think the first teaching methodology and the attempt to provide "teaching" to pack into categories. In practice sessions, as observers, and with a vast knowledge of course content. This can take up Flechsig to go back and / or include Klippert. This must, I think, to take contemporary teaching and may to borrow dramatic elements. The two-week NLP course with fables and storytelling evenings, which I visited years ago in Norwich, is one still one of the highlights in the teacher training I have ever enjoyed in my career.

Last but there are also things that you must convey in any other profession, and also unfortunately, all too often come first. Legal texts, students management, functions of trade unions and Gehaltsregelunegn. It's exciting to know little but essential. Where there is still time for e-learning Elements? They are merely tools, teacher training, they must be prominent, but may not occupy the central role. The students need for their study, know what tools are available and how they can use them, but that's a side issue, in addition to all the above.

education matters commentary for Jürgen Wagner

A podcast episode to learn about using Interwise, Skype and Moodle

Jürgen Wagner has asked me for a guest post on his blog. Here is the result. A wintry podcast episode to learn about a Creative Commons music intro of beaubourg . Although it was fun and it probably does not hear, a very nice piece of work as a podcast episode. In the nearly four-minute episode, I describe a little bit like "live online blended learning", if that concept is so ever, takes place in virtual learning environments. The first part deals with the final professional examination in Click and learn , the second part of the collaborative online courses in e-LISA Academy . Have fun listening.
