At 7 Postcard - Sailor Jerry Sailor Jerry's Blog Blog Battle

The night was short, the bottle is almost empty and the taste buds have been put through adventurous creations to the brink of functioning.

But the work has paid off - my cocktail for the blog battle is and must be on a par with other great tiki drinks. ;-)
The difficulties of the other bloggers came naturally to me, too. You have to call it by its name: The rum is already weak in the pure taste and limiting weighs in on this one distillate heavy. There was more or less creative justification for it, after all, in the letter. :-D

but I deliberately decided against a solution with as few ingredients, because I wanted to take up at least rudimentary features of the typical tiki drinks. The result is:

Postcard At 7
  • 1.5cl grapefruit juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 3 cl lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 2.5cl cane sugar syrup (Giffard)
  • 1.5cl blackberry liqueur (Giffard Mûroise du Val de Loire)
  • 7.5cl Spiced Rum works (of course only Sailor Jerry!)
preparation
all ingredients give me plenty of ice cubes into the shaker, shake well and strain into a tumbler of fresh ice. Lime slice and a long Grapefruitzeste as decoration to give and serve with straw.

A brief taste classification for those interested: Behind the orange-brown Facade you will smell strong accents fruit, blackberry is outstanding, but also subtle vanilla should be mentioned.
soft on the tongue, palate sound sour blackberry and hazelnut tones. Grapefruit with subtle plays in the background. The finish is indeed balanced, but with a slight overhang to sweetness.

order followed to document for posterity a drink that has fallen victim to the rules, as well as an attention should be paid to the quick preparation for bigger events. While reading the recipe, everyone should stand out, why a fixed preparation is almost impossible ...

Grolol
  • 1 / 2 apple (Golden Delicious)
  • 1.5cl lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1.5cl cane sugar syrup (Giffard)
  • 1.5cl Crème de Violette (The Bitter Truth)
  • 6cl Spiced Rum (of course only Sailor Jerry !) chop
preparation
apple, to give Mixingglas, muddle and shake vigorously with all other ingredients over ice very strong. Per give Finest Rain in a chilled cocktail glass. The color of decoration is enough.

The picture:
Did angels ;-)
It may be read very unusual, but believe the results across the board. A drink with accentuated aromas, predominantly, of course, apple and rum, the crème de Violette also ensures a diffuse ease.
particularly useful test of the angels listened to not associate to emphasize that the individual ingredients do not overlap each other indefinable, but the taste of something big. Unfortunately
led attempts to "massentauglicheren" naturally cloudy apple juice did not produce the desired result, here you have everything prepared fresh.
Oh: The color is through the use of the crème de Violette very ... interesting. An eye-catcher on his way.

A more detailed presentation of the rum follows the weekend that it was the first blog battle.
Many thanks to the organizing team behind it, I would love to present at the Bartender's Night or the entire BCB. Unfortunately, talks like a little "work" against it.
The blog battle is / was definitely a great idea, it was great fun!
