Kmbd Bus Stand Hotels

holidays are over - unfortunately, as I now can say quite clearly.
an unbelievably wonderful country, helpful and sympathetic people on every corner, fascinating landscapes and a rather undervalued price / performance level. Especially in restaurants, the prices for delicious meals well affordable.

A few nice pictures to follow, now it is all about the alcoholic side of Albania.

In Tirana there was a Tiki bar with a nice decoration - unfortunately the bartender did not faux-Polynesian drinks, spoke no English and the Tiki-Mugs employees seemed to be only on their work clothes a term.
pity, because the cocktails were not completely wrong (freshly squeezed lemon juice, crushed ice cold, fresh ice in the glass), but unfortunately lacked a bit of that sensibility. No Jigger, everything was shaken with crushed ice, Granity glasses for everything.

Skenderbeu konjac ... we do not talk about it. The standard filling is undrinkable (I caught allegedly even an original filling, often, the empty bottles filled with homemade booze and resold), announced the 13-year-old Skenderbeu nowhere to buy.

surprise it was to offer the spirits in the supermarket. were the usual suspects are plentiful (Smirnoff, Chivas Regal, Bacardi, Gordon's ...), but in any province supermarkets you can find really Pampero Especial, and - hold on - Johnnie Walker Blue Label. However, the bottle may have got there, the price was slightly higher than the German.

Raki is the national drink. In a hostel in Berat was just another 10l delivery of homemade raki in (in PET bottles), this should be better than that of the last delivery. Quite honestly, I do not know the last filling must have tasted ...
A little drinkable was the self-made raki a traditional restaurants. Unfortunately, I was the only one who found it. The girls liked him at all, it was again all depend on me. ;-(

The visit of the Cobo winery it made a lot up for that.
It is the most famous wine estate in the country, the president and some ambassadors are regular visitors to the summer festival.
The annual production of 100,000 Bottles and the storage areas are very clear. Proud we were an international wine guide shown in which the operation is mentioned as the only positive Albanian property.
The interesting tour of the small family business, the owner introduced himself, including exciting translation arts. The man spoke only Albanian and Italian. My companion and I agree we can only in German, English and French. Fortunately, there were two English-speaking visitors here, one of them spoke good English. Since English and Italian are probably comparable or less, the owner could tell in Italian, which translates into a visitor English and my companion and I discussed a few things continued in German. Questions were asked via English into English. The is multicultural!
We three products were given to taste, Shesh i Bardh (white wine, light and sweet and tasty, but nothing special), Kashmere (red wine, full and sweet, incredible fruitiness) and raki me Arra (with spices and nuts offset, mature raki. Milder than the self-made and full of flavor).
Of the latter two products were then each bottle with the luggage.

make the beer breweries in the country also produces a regular beer. The filling of the 50th Birthday of Tirana Beer was very good, nice strong Malznote. Almost like dark beer.
But the bitter legal standard filling is good, Korca Beer also liked.

On the way back I made a stop at the Duty Free Shops and covered myself in Albania with a liter bottle of Beefeater 47 € for 9 *, in Munich, one liter of Ron Zacapa went 23 for 49,50 € (unfortunately, the new filling is moderate to usable) in my possession and over in Dusseldorf was joined by a very nice bottle of Hendrick's Gin (liter bottle to € 32.90). Especially nice because it was a great addition.
How exactly you came at Hendrick's to "Time for Tea," says I do not. But the porcelain cup is well made and I find the idea funny, especially the totally outrageous statement to a board side is highly amusing. The story is there along with a tea-time drink. ;-)

were the first highlights from Albania, who has come on the taste may register you. A holiday country in which one with a little adventure can still gain great experience!

* In (Western) European Duty Free Shops liquids sealed in special bags so that you get as a transit traveler no problems in subsequent checks. In the Albanian Duty Free liquids are also sealed in special bags. These differ slightly from the European. How exactly is
was a life-threatening danger, as I tried to enter coming from the Albanian security sector in the German security area of the airport with just this welded Beefeater bottle, I could even the security forces not to explain. Because, however, of an Albanian bags, I had to give up the bottle with a backpack as checked baggage (for Lufthansa after all for free), otherwise they would have been thrown away ...
